1258 Treaty of Corbeil - The King of Aragon renounces his claims to Occitania
1348 the Black Death decimates the population
1989 Classification of the Château de Pieusse as a historic monument. by decree of February 14
13th-14th centuries: The ceiling of the keep of Pieusse Castle is decorated in two phases. Its “Gothic” decoration is painted on an existing ceiling, unlike most of the other ceilings, the majority of which were painted on the floor.
mid-13th century The keep was probably built by the Archbishop of Narbonne, Pierre Amiel or Guillaume de la Broue, when his right to the lordship was firmly confirmed, after the Albigensian Crusade. The foundations of the keep belong to an older building
14th century. Four archbishops of Narbonne marked the century:

1790 The castle becomes private property, it becomes a simple dwelling then an agricultural outbuilding
1226-1762 the archbishopric of Narbonne saw a succession of nearly 40 archbishops keeping the Lordship of Pieusse in their heritage:

1764-1790 Last archbishop Monseigneur Arthur Richard Dillon, lord and baron of Pieusse, owner of the castle.
1963 Excavations are undertaken by the owner Mr. Sarda and the Mayor of Pieusse Mr. Mestres, in the hope of discovering the treasure
left in the 18th century by Bishop Dillon fleeing revolutionary events.
1238 deposition of Raimond Dejean during the Inquisition: "up to 100 heretics" held a "general council" in Pieusse around 1225
1226 second royal crusade led by Louis VIII
1229 Bernard Roger, son of the Count of Foix, ceded the fief to King Louis IX, who united it with the bishopric of Narbonne. The castle remained in the hands of the regional power.


1221 the stronghold of Pieusse was taken by Raymond Roger, Count of Foix, the domain was then under the suzerainty of Roger II, Viscount of Carcassonne
In 1212 , the region of Foix was established as a county. Bernard Roger de Foix was the first count.
711 Islamized Arab-Berber troops cross the Strait of Gibraltar
1137 we find the first mentions of "villeneuve d'extension" for the village of Pieusse signifying the expansion of the village by the development of its agglomeration

11th century development of ecclesiastical villages

1209 first Albigensian Crusade led by Simon de Montfort
725 The "Saracens" occupy Carcassonne

1222-1225 According to a report from the Inquisition , the Cathar council of Pieusse created the Cathar bishopric of RAZES. Benoît de Termes was ordained bishop of this new diocese. The exact location of this council is not mentioned.
1140-1145? Construction of the Château de Pieusse by the Counts of Foix, during the reign of Louis VII. The keep, in its current form, is not part of it.
1119 a bull from Pope Calixtus II cites the castrum Puncianum et ecclesiam
In the 7th century , the Pieusse castle was reportedly burned down by the Saracens (unverified source)
In the 5th century , the village was known as "Castrum-Puncianum", a strategic location responsible for defending the Upper Aude Valley against the threat of the Saracens.
